📷 What is EXIF Data?

EXIF (Exchangeable Image File Format) is metadata embedded directly inside JPEG photographs when captured by modern cameras and smartphones.

  • Camera Settings: Camera make, model, exposure time, aperture, and ISO speed.
  • Timestamp: Date and exact time the photo was taken.
  • GPS Location: Latitude, longitude, and altitude coordinates.

Privacy Note: Stripping EXIF data (especially GPS coordinates) before sharing photos online protects your location privacy.
